May 29-30: EventStorming Workshop by Alberto Brandolini

Event Storming

EventStorming is a technique for massive collaborative exploration of large and complex business processes. It is flexible too. Its adaptive approach trigger the best possible conversation from the people in the room allowing to
- understand multiple perspective on the same process
- allow for business-driven lean analysis
- streamline design of the underlying software
- improve the user experience and the design of the overall service
- focus the efforts where it matters most

At the end of the workshop, you’ll have an accurate model about your problem domain, and quite a few strategies about how to model key areas and how to effectively manage the whole system, without falling into the common pitfalls from data-driven architectures.

  • Day 1
We'll run a Big Picture EventStorming on a not-so-fictitious domain, in a role-game fashion. We'll experience what happens in a real sessions, and share facilitation tips in order to make the magic happen
  • Day 2
We'll switch mood towards a more design-oriented approach. We'll dig around the dynamics of the system hot spots and we'll lay down the recurring strategies for solving different type of blockers. Ending up in a solution designed for the more rewarding problem.
We'll get somewhat more technical injecting perspective from service design, lean, software development and user experience design. And your perspective is welcome too!
